COMPANY MISTRESS

Megan Wanlass began dancing at the age of 3 and has been a part of TVAD since 2009, participating in a variety of ways and dancing as part of the company. Megan performed such roles as: Fairy of Wisdom, Sleeping Beauty 2017; Ms. Anna, Junior Company Mistress in A Christmas Carol 2016; Wili Queen, Giselle 2016; Drosselmeyer’s Doll, Nutcracker 2015; Summer Fairy, Cinderella 2015; Flower Queen, Nutcracker 2014; Odalys, the Black Swan of Sorrow, Swan Lake 2014; Snow Queen, Nutcracker 2013; Fairy of Temperament, Sleeping Beauty 2013; Marzipan, Nutcracker 2011; and one of the royal horses in Cinderella 2011. She also performed as a Lady in Waiting in Ballet West’s Nutcracker 2012 and was an attendant for Miss Tooele City, 2014-2015. She is a talented artist and enjoys sketching and painting. Megan has completed many murals around Tooele City and, as TVAD’s resident artist, has created backdrops and painted set work for a number of productions. She is currently a Senior at the University of Utah, majoring in Mining Engineering. This is her first year as Company Mistress and she hopes to use her talents and experience to help the younger dancers realize their full potential in everything they do.

 

Aftyn Bradfield

Aftyn Bradfield

Aftyn Bradfield is the daughter of John and Christy Bradfield.  She is an 8th grade student at Tooele Junior High School. After trying various dance styles beginning at age 5, she happily settled on ballet, joining TVAD in the Fall of 2014 at the age of ten.  Prior to that she studied with Dance Attitude, Busy Bee Dance Studio and Swan Studios.  Aftyn has performed in two TVAD productions of the Nutcracker (2014 & 2015) as a Party Guest, Mouse and Spanish Dancer. Her other former roles include: Fairy of Purity, Sleeping Beauty 2017; Ivy Maiden, Christmas Present Party Guests and Corps, A Christmas Carol 2016;  Villager, Giselle 2016; and Ice Skater, Cinderella 2015. Aftyn enjoys mastering the challenges ballet brings and pushing herself to improve and perform at her best. She was thrilled to reach her goal of being on Pointe and is excited to participate with the Company this year.

 

 

 

Brooklun Finlayson

Brooklun Finlayson

Brooklun Finlayson is an 8th grade honor student at Tooele Junior High School. Her parents April Mitchell and Skyler Finlayson have proudly watched her perform and grow as a dancer since she was eight.  Dancing competitively in jazz, lyrical and hip hop, Brooklun has earned high gold and first place rankings.  She joined TVAD in the late fall of 2015.  Brooklun experienced her first classical ballet performance in spring 2016 as a villager and noble in Giselle.  She has since danced in the Company’s Corps and played the role of Ebene’s Maid in A Christmas Carol 2016. When asked about how she felt about dance Brooklun said: “Dance is a way of expressing how I feel that I can’t say with words. It is a way to show who I am. Dance is a part of my life, but most importantly, it is a part of me. I couldn’t imagine my life without it, like the saying ‘Without dance, what’s the pointe.'” In her free time Brooklun enjoys hanging out with her friends, reading and scrapbooking with her grandma. Brooklun would like to pursue a career as a teacher or a dance studio owner.

 

 

 

Nathan Hinton

Nathan Hinton

Nathan Hinton is the son of Ryan & Celeste Hinton. Nathan is 16 years old and has been dancing with TVAD since 2012. Nathan enjoys ballet in part because it reminds him of karate: the discipline, exertion and demand for excellence. Coincidentally, his favorite karate sensei is a former soloist with the American Ballet Theatre. Nathan’s former roles include: Lilac Fairy Cavalier, Sleeping Beauty 2017;  Cavalier & Company Corps Member, A Christmas Carol 2016; Nutcracker Prince, Nutcracker 2015; Villager, Hunter, Noble, and the Squire Wilfred, Giselle, 2016;  Gentleman/Cavalier at the ball, Cinderella 2015; demi-soloist in the Napolitaine dance, Swan Lake 2014; Edmund, Nutcracker 2013; Page and Hunter, Sleeping Beauty 2013. Nathan has also performed as a Russian Dancer and part of the Waltz of the Flowers in past Nutcracker productions. Nathan danced the Peasant Pas de Deux from Giselle at Capital Theater in Winter 2016 as well as in TVAD’s Spring production of Giselle, Spring 2016. At any given moment Nathan may be reading the science encyclopedia, playing sports, practicing piano, baking rolls or experimenting with his latest invention. He is also currently one of TVAD’s piano accompanists.

 

 

Cessna Hubrich

Cessna Hubrich

Cessna Hubrich is the daughter of Jeffrey & Heather Hubrich. She is a Freshman at Tooele High. Cessna began dancing at N-Step Dance Studio Fall of 2008. She joined TVAD in the Fall of 2010 at the age of 8. Her former roles in TVAD’s Nutcracker include: Party Guest (2010), Candy Cane (2011), Mouse (2014) and a Snowflake, Spanish Dancer and Clara’s Friend MaryAnn in Nutcracker 2015. Cessna’s other roles include: Mouse & Snow Corps, Cinderella 2011; Villager, Giselle 2012; Napolitaine Dance, Swan Lake 2014; Autumn Corps, Cinderella 2015; a Noble, Giselle 2016; Queen of the Bells, a Flower, Party Guest and Snowflake, A Christmas Carol 2016 and most recently: Sleeping Dust and Vision Corp Sleeping Beauty 2017. Cessna is a straight “A” student and takes great pride in her schoolwork. She will be on the HOPE squad this year. When she is not dancing (she’s always dancing) she enjoys camping with her family, swimming with her friends or riding dirt bikes in the desert.

 

 

 

Madisen Liddell

Madisen Liddell

Madisen Mae Liddell is the daughter of Candace Liddell & Guy Maylett. She is a Senior at Stansbury High School. Madisen has been dancing since she was 3 years old in various styles of dance. She joined TVAD in 2011 and has been studying ballet ever since. Her former roles include: Carabosse, the Malificent Fairy, Sleeping Beauty 2017; Ebene Star, A Christmas Carol 2016; The Spring Fairy, Cinderella 2015; Odile, the Red Swan, Swan Lake 2014; and Fairy of Purity, Sleeping Beauty 2013. Madisen performed the title role of Giselle in the Spring of 2016. She has also danced as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Nutcracker 2015. In 2015 Madisen danced a contemporary ballet number at YAGP Colorado 2015 as well as Cupid’s Variation from Don Quixote. She performed at Capital Theatre in 2016, dancing a Pas de Deux from both Le Corsaire and Giselle, as well as a Variation from La Raymonda and a Contemporary Ballet Solo. She will be attending AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts in Los Angeles this fall where she plans to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in the Performing Arts in the year 2020. Madisen is also on track to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) & Pharmacy Technician.

 

 

Audrey Palmer

Audrey Palmer

Audrey Palmer is the daughter of Jason and Melinda Palmer. She is a 7th grader at Tooele Jr High.  Audrey has loved dancing since she was little and began her formal training at TVAD in 2011.  Audrey’s former roles include: Bluebird soloist, Sleeping Beauty 2017; Christmas Present Corps and Waltz of the Flowers, A Christmas Carol 2016; Villager and Noble, Giselle 2016; Clara’s Friend and Tree Sprite, Nutcracker 2015; Ice Skater, Cinderella 2015; Napolitaine Dancer, Swan Lake 2014; Party Guest, Nutcracker 2014 & 2013; Blackbird, SleepingBeauty 2013; Young Dancer and Christmas Past Corps, A Christmas Carol 2012; Villager, Giselle 2012; and Snowflake, Nutcracker 2011. When Audrey isn’t dancing (which is very rare), she likes to go camping and enjoys swimming and watching movies.

 

 

 

 

Kaylee Park

Kaylee Park

Kaylee Park is the daughter of Craig and Lacey Park. Kaylee is home-schooled and has been dancing all her life. She fell in love with TVAD in the spring of 2015 when she played her first small role as an Ice skater in Cinderella. Since then Kaylee has danced as a Spanish chocolate, Nutcracker 2015 and a Villager in Giselle 2016. Other previous roles include: Swarm, reindeer, Waltz of the Flowers and Christmas Past Corps, Christmas Carol 2016;  Knitter, Courtier, and Wedding Guest, Sleeping Beauty 2017. Kaylee loves serving at her church, being with her friends and acting. She has a love for children and babysitting. She hopes one day to become a nurse or a lawyer. Until then, her passion is dance.

 

 

 

 

 

Zachary Park

Zachary Park

Zachary Park is the son of Lacey and Craig Park. He is a Sophomore and has been home-schooled all his life. Zach began attending TVAD in the spring of 2016, where he made his debut onstage in the Hunting Party for the Giselle Ballet.  Zach then performed as King of the Christmas Bells & Christmas Past Cavalier, A Christmas Carol 2016 and as a Courtier & Prince in Sleeping Beauty 2017. He is very excited to be joining company this year. Zachary can always be seen with a camera around his neck and enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends, serving at his local church, swimming and hiking. He aspires to be a world exploring photographer when he graduates.

 

 

 

 

 

Lizzie Rawlings

Lizzie Rawlings

Lizzie Rawlings is the daughter of Jeremy and Andrea Rawlings. She is an 8th grader at Clarke N. Johnsen Jr. High this year. Lizzie has had a love of the stage from a very young age and is always looking for opportunities to perform. At the age of 6 she was cast as Molly in La Forge Encore Theatre’s production of Annie. Lizzie started her study of ballet with TVAD in 2009 and instantly fell in love with classical ballet.  She has danced many roles for six TVAD Nutcracker performances including her favorite role, Clara, Winter 2015. In addition to Nutcracker, Lizzie has performed as: Fairy of Joy, Sleeping Beauty 2017;  a Noble, Giselle 2016; a Lady at the Ball, Cinderella 2015; White Swan & Napolitaine Dancer, Swan Lake 2014; and Young Princess Aurora, Sleeping Beauty 2013. She also performed a Swanhilda’s solo (Coppélia) at Capital Theatre winter of 2015. In addition to dance and theatre, Lizzie is gifted academically and musically. She goes above and beyond in all that she pursues and works relentlessly to achieve her goals, one of which has been to become a TVAD Company Member. Lizzie hopes to earn a scholarship to a university, serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and someday become a mom and an Optometrist.

 

Maren Rodgers

Maren Rodgers

Maren Rodgers is the daughter of Jenelle Daley and Galen Rodgers. She is an 8th grader at Grantsville Jr. High and the Historian in her Student Council.  Maren began dancing around the age of 3 at N-Step Dance Academy where she learned hip-hop, contemporary, lyrical, jazz and other styles of dance. Maren joined TVAD in the Fall of 2014 and this is her first year as TVAD Company Member. Her former roles with TVAD include: Party Guest, Nutcracker 2014; Ice Skater, Cinderella 2015; Snowflake and Mouse, Nutcracker 2015; Noble, Giselle 2016; Young Ebene, Flower, Swarm & Christmas Present Party Guests, A Christmas Carol 2016; Knitter, Wedding Guests & Sleeping Dust, Sleeping Beauty 2017. Maren has also performed in the following musicals: Honk! Jr., 2016 and The Music Man, 2017. Maren loves to dance, sing, act, play the cello, and hang out with friends and family.

 

 

 

Carly Runyon

Carly Runyon

Carly Runyon is the daughter of Mark and Joni Runyon. Carly is in 8th grade and is homeschooled. She has been dancing with TVAD since she was nine and has loved every second of it. Carly’s former roles include: Blackbird, Sleeping Beauty 2013; Party Guest and Soldier, Nutcracker 2013; Villager, Swan Lake 2014; Party Guest and Mouse, Nutcracker 2014; Ice Skater, Cinderella 2015; Tree Sprite, Soldier and Spanish chocolate, Nutcracker 2015; Villager, Giselle 2016; Swarm, Pre-show Sugarplum Fairy, Waltz of the Flowers and Christmas Present Corps, Christmas Carol 2016; and The Fairy of Generosity in Sleeping Beauty 2017. Her favorite role by far has been The Fairy of Generosity. In her free time if she is not dancing she will probably be helping with her Church (especially with the kids) or will be singing in her youth’s worship team. Someday she hopes to either teach at a ballet studio or become a therapist.

 

 

 

 

Sarah Sellers

Sarah Sellers

Sarah Sellers is the daughter of Craig & Guylenne Sellers. She is a Senior at Stansbury High School this year. Before joining TVAD in the Spring of 2015 Sarah studied ballet at Swan Studios under the direction of Melissa Swan. Sarah’s former roles with TVAD include: Ghost of Christmas Future, A Christmas Carol Ballet 2016;  Noble & Villager in Giselle, 2016; Lady at the Ball, Cinderella 2015; Maid, Lady in Waiting, Snowflake & Tree Sprite, Nutcracker 2015. This past spring, Sarah performed the role of Aurora in Sleeping Beauty. Sarah typically dances 6 days a week. She plans to continue dancing in college and will likely pursue a career in Biotechnology or Forensics.

 

 

 

 

Hannah Sheppard

Hannah Sheppard is the daughter of Dave and Cheryl Sheppard. Hannah has been dancing almost since she could walk. She danced one year of jazz prior to joining TVAD in 2010. She has performed in four TVAD productions of the Nutcracker, dancing roles such as Clara’s Best Friend Jane, Russian dancer, party guest, snowflake, tree sprite and mouse. Other former roles include: The Lilac Fairy, Sleeping Beauty 2017;  Ghost of Christmas Present, A Christmas Carol 2016; autumn leaf, night shade and lady at the ball, Cinderella 2015; white swan and napolitaine dancer, Swan Lake 2014; lady in waiting and bluebird demi-soloist, Sleeping Beauty 2013; villager, Giselle 2012; party guest and Ghost of Christmas Future corps de ballet dancer in A Christmas Carol 2012. Hannah danced the Peasant Pas de Deux and a solo from La Bayadere at Capital Theatre Winter of 2015 and in TVAD’s production of Giselle, 2016. Hannah is the 8th grade Vice President class officer at Tooele Junior High and a member of the HOPE squad. Hannah also enjoys eating homemade pickles and playing basketball.

 

 

Kathryn Thompson

Kathryn Thompson

Kathryn Thompson is the daughter of Todd and Melanie Thompson and sister to three older brothers. Kathryn is a Freshman at Tooele High School this year and is excited to be dancing on the THS Ballroom Team. She started her ballet instruction at age 3 with Swan Studios, and has been dancing at TVAD since the Fall of 2013. She loves every minute of it. Her former roles include: Fairy of Beauty, Sleeping Beauty 2017; Christmas Party Guests and Company Corps Member, A Christmas Carol 2016; Wili Corps member and Noble, Giselle 2016;  Enchanted Horse, Cinderella 2015; Russian Dancer, Tree Sprite & Snowflake, Nutcracker 2015; Black Swan Corps, Swan Lake 2014;  and Clara, Nutcracker 2014. Kathryn also plays the piano and flute, and loves music of all kinds.

 

 

 

 

Berkeley Swarthout

Berkeley Swarthout

Berkeley Swarthout is the son of Greg & Charisse Swarthout and older brother to Reno & Houston Swarthout. In addition to being a TVAD Company Member, Berkeley enjoys acting in the THS Drama Program and other local Community Theater Troupes. He is currently a Senior at THS. Berkeley’s debut role with TVAD was in 2011 as a tap dancer and part of Drosselmeyer’s Crew in the Nutcracker. Berkeley’s additional former theatrical roles include: Jack, Into the Woods 2016; Doctor, A Christmas Carol 2016; Nigerian Prince, Sleeping Beauty 2017 and Chef, Little Mermaid 2017.

 

 

 

 

 

Daniel Westhora

Daniel Westhora

Daniel Westhora is the son of Darren and Sarah Westhora. He worked as part of the TVAD stage crew behind the scenes for many years, making his debut on the stage “holding up the walls” in Cinderella Spring of 2015. Daniel’s mother was absolutely delighted when he decided to begin attending Men’s Class in the Fall of 2016. Always ready for physically demanding activities, he enjoys the challenges and opportunities that classical dance training offers. This is Daniel’s first year as a TVAD Company Member. He played the role of King Stephan in Sleeping Beauty, Spring of 2017 (and firmly believes that the doublet should return en vogue). He is currently a Sophomore at Stansbury High School and a long-jumper on the Track Team. In addition to a plethora of church, family and school participation, Daniel is an avid reader and enjoys rollerblading, rock climbing, ballroom dance and keeping stock of the Academy’s growing armory. He plans to serve a mission after graduating from high school and then complete whatever training he needs to become a mechanical engineer.
