Christina Christiansen started dancing when she was six years old. After a couple of years dancing in the middle of a dance semester, she told her mom she didn’t want to go to dance anymore. Her mom said ok, but after only a couple of weeks she changed her mind and went back. She has been dancing ever since. At the age of twelve she enrolled at Cache Valley Civic Ballet and studied under Sandy Emile, Vivian Taylor, and Becky Erickson. She studied with them all through high school participating in their Junior and Senior Company’s, performing in multiple of their ballet productions including The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, La Boutique Fantasque and performing as Peter in Peter and the Wolf. During her high school years she also participated in her schools Variety Shows and musical productions of Fiddler on the Roof and Peter Pan. Her senior year of high school, she was picked as one of two High School Interns for USU Full Circle Contemporary Dance Team. After high school she attended SUU for two years studying dance performance. She studied under Kay Andersen, Paul Ocampo, and Chien-Ying Wang. Here she was able to study modern, lyrical, ballet, tap and choreography. During her college years she also danced with the SUU Ballroom Team. Christina and her husband moved to Tooele in 2016 and soon after had twin girls found TVAD through friends who encouraged her to make contact with Miss Sarah. TVAD has welcomed her warmly and she is excited to be able to teach and have dance consistently in her life. Christina believes that instruction in ballet can help in many aspects in life. It provides a basic structure usable in any type of dance, teach dedication and responsiblitlity, and help build confidence. She’s excited to share the joy of dancing with all the students at TVAD.
